Event Outline
PIA, the Property Council of Australia and UDIA WA are coming together to deliver a first-of-its-kind joint industry event focused on equity in the built environment. Held at the newly redeveloped WACA Ground, in the new Wally Edwards Function Centre, on Friday, 18 September 2026, the event will bring together senior leaders, practitioners, emerging professionals and commentators from across planning, property, development, government and allied built environment sectors.
The purpose of the event is to foster a practical, solutions-focused conversation about the current state of equity across the industry and the actions needed to drive meaningful progress. While aligned with International Equal Pay Day, the discussion will extend beyond pay equity to explore broader issues including career progression, leadership pathways, workplace culture, flexibility, representation, and building a more inclusive and future-ready profession.
The program is intended to include keynote-style insights followed by a moderated industry round table designed to encourage honest, constructive and practical discussion. Rather than a traditional panel or standard networking lunch, the event will provide a platform for three peak industry bodies to collectively explore how we can support a more equitable, capable and future-ready built environment sector.
An optional tour of the WACA Ground will be available following the event for attendees who wish to explore the venue further.
This is a joint event between the PIA WPN Network WA, Urban Development Institute of Australia and the Property Council of Australia
