PLANET VIC | Project Management for Planners

This course is designed for planners and practitioners who are responsible for delivering strategic plans such as Housing Strategies, Urban Design Frameworks, Economic Development Strategies, Structure Plans and Heritage Studies. The course will look at all aspects of project management including development of the brief, project governance, community consultation, stakeholder engagement, budget management and managing the client / provider relationship. There will be a particular focus on ensuring that plans can be implemented (though the planning scheme, capital works budget and other channels).

Learning Outcomes

Understand what projects are, and what we are trying to achieve when we undertake them. 
Learn how to design and scope all elements of projects, including building a methodology, identifying detailed tasks, budgeting, stakeholder engagement and reporting. 
Learn frameworks to assist with initiating, planning, executing and implementing projects. 
Apply your learnings and prepare a project plan using a detailed template during the training session.

Cazz Redding runs Schemology (formerly known as Redink Planning), a town-planning consultancy based in north-east Victoria focussing on project management, strategic planning, drafting of planning scheme controls and training planners.
Cazz is an innovator and always on the lookout for better ways of doing things, to achieve efficiency in systems and processes, and deliver high quality outcomes for communities. She’s a systems thinker and has the rare ability to excel in both the strategic planning space and the detailed delivery mechanisms.
In the last two decades Cazz has educated hundreds of planners at RMIT and through the PLANET program and has an open, honest and generous delivery style that keeps participants engaged and creates a safe environment to ask questions and explore ideas.
